The Vancouver Area Racing Council (VARC) is a volunteer-based organization devoted to providing sailors with the most successful regional championship racing circuit in North America. VARC coordinates with 8 local yacht clubs to bring the championship regatta series to Vancouver area racers, providing continuity and a forum in which sponsors, scheduling and registrations can be more easily managed.
Each VARC Member Club contributes as much as it can by providing the circuit with at least one signature regatta. VARC ensures the maximum attendance possible at these regattas, resulting in an excellent level of competition. This is achieved by coordinating with all non-VARC races to avoid scheduling conflicts, by providing education on race management, and by linking Member Clubs with sponsors for each event.
